Hey Rockstar – I’m doing the Friday Five a little bit differently now and the only place it will really be any different is if you’re getting my email newsletter in your inbox. Normally, I send the email version and then post it on my blog but last week I setup an automation rule in ConvertKit that will grab the Friday Five RSS feed and send it to my email list automatically once it’s published on the blog.

What’s different, really, is that in order to read the whole thing, you’ll need to pop on over to the blog from the email if that’s how you’re reading this. That’s really the only change.

Why have I done it this way? Well, to make it a little bit easier and less time consuming for myself. Instead of having to write the post twice in two different places, I can write it once and the automation rule will handle the rest. No more copying and pasting and all that.

Ok . . . let’s dive in!

As an entrepreneur, marketing is something you’ve got to understand enough to really lead your brand. And storytelling is one of the best ways to do that. If you follow me on Facebook, you know I regularly write long stories and this is one reason why. So, take a look at How to Craft a Marketing Story that People Embrace and Share over on Copyblogger.

Ready to give LinkedIn another shot? It’s really proving to be a great resource for connecting with your Tribe. You’ll want to listen to this podcast from Rainmaker.FM – 3 Pillars to Building Influence & Establishing a Brand where host Jabez Lebret talks with The LinkedIn Lady, Carol McManus.

Starbucks started a cool thing recently called Upstanders. It’s about ordinary people doing extraordinary things to create positive change in their communities. I highly recommend you check it out.

There’s a free series hosted by Michael Hyatt over at FreeToFocus.com this week. Lots of great interviews going on! You’ll want to dive in soon, though, because they’re only available through TODAY! Sorry for the late notice! If you only get to a few, I recommend the interviews with Cal Newport and Chalene Johnson first.

And last this week, a guy who’s work I’ve been following for several years, Derek Gehl of Entrepreneur Ignited. There’s a TON of great info there. Specifically, check out the podcast linked here.

That’s it for this week! Remember also to check out my brand new program designed to help you kick ass over the last 4 months of the year. I’ll be teaching you all my best tools and strategies for getting stuff done and then some. If you have a business, you will want to jump on this training! It’s a 2-day virtual workshop coming up here in a couple of weeks and then an ongoing training series over the next 3 months.

And please let me know if you have any questions.
