A few weeks ago, a friend of mine offered folks in her private group a word for the month of February.
My word turned out to be TELL.
Which sorta freaked me out, to be honest! And since then, TELL has been reverberating through my thoughts.
TELL. TELL. TELL. TELL. TELL. TELL.
At all hours of the day and night. In between other thoughts. In between work and daily tasks. As I’m trying to fall asleep at night.
Like, mocking me. Perhaps mocking me into silence.
Because there is SO MUCH to TELL. So many stories and ideas and thoughts and feelings. So many words that want to TELL the truth.
To speak life into things.
And yet lately, the words I’m holding within aren’t very positive. They’re not uplifting. They’re not hopeful.
What I realized, though, is that they are necessary.
Darkness surrounds us because we forget to call in the light when things are tough. Darkness surrounds us because sometimes we just don’t know how to call in the light when things are tough.
And I was reminded I can TELL the darkness to move.
By TELLING the truth. By owning the truth. By speaking the light into being. Even if that means the words I speak are gloomy or unfavorable.
Because truth always brings the light.
My word for 2020 is ELEVATE. And as I dive into this word of TELL and what it means for me and for my work and for my family and for YOU, I’ve come to understand that these 2 words go hand in hand.
To TELL is to ELEVATE and honor the light of peace.
And that’s my mission.
